rainbow falls bus tour and Shuttle services

Shuttle Services:

Travel to Stehekin is limited to foot, boat or plane; there is no road access to Stehekin. The best way for visitors to get around in Stehekin once they arrive is to bicycle or "ride the red bus".

The red buses are "heritage style" tour buses that feature ceiling windows for optimal viewing of the spectacular North Cascades Scenery.

The buses provide two services to guests of the Lodge and to visitors traveling to Stehekin:

The Stehekin Valley Shuttle is operated by the North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin providing transportation service from the Stehekin Landing and the Lodge up the valley to and from High Bridge with several scheduled stops along the way. This is a great way to take in the entire Valley on an approximate two hour trip.  See Schedule *

Adults $7.00
Children (under 12) $4.00
Bicycle/Dogs $7.00
Bakery Special $3.00 (between the Lodge and the Bakery)
All fairs are one-way regardless of pick-up or drop off point.

*schedule and fares are subject to change

Shuttle buses leave Stehekin Landing on scheduled runs, 4 times a day and travel to High Bridge, located 11 miles from the Landing. The buses make various stops along the route, both up and down valley, providing guests and visitors access to trailheads, and various visitor attractions (including the Stehekin Pastry Company!) scattered throughout the lower Stehekin Valley.

Although the road continues beyond High Bridge for about 2 more miles, High Bridge serves as the official turn-around spot for these larger vehicles. High Bridge serves as the primary trailhead for a variety of hiking trails that provide people with ample opportunity for day hiking and backpacking excursions.

Rainbow Falls Tours:

During peak season, buses leave from Stehekin Landing twice daily, taking visitors on a 60 minute with a Park Ranger of the lower Stehekin Valley, to spectacular 312 foot Rainbow Falls, located 3.5 miles from Stehekin Landing.
