The best way for visitors to explore Stehekin once they arriveby walking, cycling, or "ridING the red bus"
The red buses are "heritage style" tour buses that feature ceiling windows for optimal viewing of the spectacular North Cascades Scenery. They provide two services for guests of the Lodge and visitors traveling in Stehekin: the Rainbow Falls Tour and the Stehekin Valley Shuttle.

Rainbow Falls Tours:
During peak season, buses leave from Stehekin Landing twice daily, taking visitors on a 50-minute tour narrated by a park ranger of the lower Stehekin Valley, to a spectacular 312-foot Rainbow Falls, located 3.5 miles from Stehekin Landing.
The Tour Schedule:
11 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. - upon arrival of the Lady Express
12:30 p.m. - 1:20 p.m. - upon arrival of the Lady of the Lake II
Tour Fares: Adults $9.00
Children under 12 $4.00
Special tours may be arranged with a minimum of six riders in April and October/November by calling 509-699-2056.
The Stehekin Valley Shuttle is operated by the North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin and provide transportation service from the Stehekin Landing and the Lodge up the valley to and from High Bridge with several scheduled stops along the way. This is a great way to take in the entire valley during the approximately two-hour trip.

Shuttle buses leave Stehekin Landing on scheduled runs four times a day and travel to High Bridge, located 11 miles from the Landing. The buses make various stops along the route, both up and down valley, providing guests and visitors access to trailheads and various visitor attractions scattered throughout the lower Stehekin Valley. High Bridge serves as the primary trailhead for a variety of hiking trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail, that provide people with ample opportunity for day hiking and backpacking excursions. Although the road continues beyond High Bridge for about 2 more miles, High Bridge serves as the official turn-around spot for these larger vehicles.
